A shopper asks “best trail shoe under $150” and gets four products, a reason for each, and a place to buy. We read those answers product by product: which of yours were named, which were recommended rather than listed, and which shop the answer sent the buyer to.
A shopping answer names an item and a seller, and often skips the brand. A brand count misses the sale: your jacket can be recommended in an answer that never says your company's name.
When the assistant says “on Amazon” or names a retailer instead of your own store, that is a channel decision made for you. We count which shops the answers send buyers to, and flag your own store wherever it appears.
Product counts come from the text of the stored answers: which products were named, recommended, and linked to a shop. They do not measure shopping cards or carousels.
Give the run your products and the other names shoppers use for them. The questions still read the way someone who has never heard of you would ask, so a product named in an answer counts as earned, not prompted.
Each product carries its own row: answers naming it, answers recommending it, and where they said to buy. Products the assistants named that you never listed appear too, yours and your competitors'.
Re-run the same approved questions on the engines you chose. Three-pass reports measure disagreement between answers; the report flags changes that cannot be compared.
